One project I always aspire to do more of is home decorating. I can spend hours devouring design magazines and blogs, but when it comes to the decor in my own apartment, it's severely lacking. I blame it on being an apartment dweller for the past 11 years. I've learned that every time you start to feel "settled" in an apartment is about the same time the rent skyrockets or a noisy, annoying neighbor moves in upstairs.
This year I want to focus on making small changes around the apartment that will really make my house (aka apartment) feel like a home. Once my Christmas decorations come down (which you can see are still up in full force!) I plan to add a few extra touches around the apartment to make my space feel more comfortable and inviting.

We've been renting for awhile now and i haven't done much decorating because we've been planning to move but it keeps getting pushed back. Hopefully this is the year we finally will, but in the meantime you've inspired me to add some little touches... Oh, and congrats on your recent engagement!!! Enjoy this exciting time!

You look adorable!! I love the polka dots with the orange cardigan. So chic. I'm like you....I'm not crazy about resolutions. I'm also a home renter so I don't like to spend too much money on decorations that might have to be changed in the next few month. I hope you can find some cute ways to decorate your place. I can't wait to hear about them too!!
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way in my co-op. We've been living here for the past two years and we intended on painting and adding some 'home-y' touches but never got around to it. Sometimes it reminds me of a bachelor pad, with no decorations, just table, chairs, sofa, and bed.

I know how you feel. I always hesitate to decorate an apartment specially since we rent and never know when you have to move. I am starting to add a few things here and there, mostly just small accents to make my place feel cozier.
